When the dense head of petals fully opens, the blossoms spread six inches, revealing bright yellow stamens, adding plenty of flair to the garden. These boisterous blooms are worthy of a prominent place and provide big impact when planted in groups of ten to fifteen bulbs. Try massing among magenta-colored tulips in a sunny bed or border. Danceline Double Tulip (Tulipa ‘Danceline’) also makes a lovely cut flower and performs well in containers. ‘Danceline’ blooms late spring into early summer. Tulips require excellent drainage and thrive when summer soils are on the dry side.
