The oval leaves unfurl in medium green, growing darker as the season progresses, until the cool nights of autumn change them into a brilliant, fiery red. The improved cultivar offers white flowers, dense summer foliage, and autumn fruit and color to enliven garden beds and borders. This graceful shrub is denser and more compact than the species, with larger flowers in early spring that yield larger fruit in autumn – which birds will love. Plant in full sun to partial shade.
